Description:

A DVR designed exclusively for FPV (and tapeless camcorders).

The internal DVR of the FatShark Dominator Goggles is “ok”, but doesn’t come close to the quality that PAL/NTSC can offer. Instead of the MJPEG compression used in Dominator, PowerPlay uses x264 compression (AVC) at a much higher bitrate. The Dominator's frame rate of 30 frames per second is also doubled to 60 frames per second, essential for capturing smooth racing footage.

The power part…
PowerPlay's power section consists of two 18500 Li-ion cells that can power a Dominator HDO + rapidFIRE + DVR for up to 3 hours*.
To charge, either use the built-in USB-C port for up to 1.5A charging, or simply remove the cells and replace them with a freshly charged set.
Larger capacity 2040mAh cells are available at most RC stores and are also used in the FrSky X-Lite radios, so any decent FPV dealer will have them in stock.

Headband
The PowerPlay comes with a head mounting accessory pack. A quick-release clip attaches to the back of the goggle's standard head strap, and the new included top strap ensures a comfortable fit.

A short “Y” cable connects power, A/V, and the fan connector.
The rear mounted DVR has the advantage of allowing people standing behind you to see what you as the pilot see.
A longer version of the cable is also included for those who prefer to keep their battery/DVR in their bag and keep the weight off their head.

The PowerPlay has become the DVR of choice for tapeless camcorder fans.

Tapes for these wonderful "retro" camcorders are hard to find, but PowerPlay brings new life to these camcorders, with storage on easy-to-find micro SD cards.
